Helpful Need To Know Information
A bit about the moon that you are all on:
Located in the Blue Sun System, Port Venture is a settlement situated on Sakura, last moon of the planet Fury. It is called home by those trying to eke out a living far from the long arm of the Alliance. Here you will find businesses, families, along with a few unsavory sorts and ne'er do wells. But all in all it is as good as any place to land and try your luck. Unfortunately it is close enough to Miranda to have the occasional Reaver (insane cannibals from outer space) visit.
About the towns and ways to make money:
One of the major differences Port Venture as compared to other airsoft events is the inclusion of the Town Area in the safe zone. The two towns in the safe zones are the bustling township of Port Venture itself and the backwater village of Danton. The game continues in these safe areas with only the use of non-airsoft weapons (nerf weapons) allowed to be used. The towns may have different rules, laws, and expectations of visitors and townsfolk, so sometimes it's best to ask before brandishing your shiny pistol or giant knife.
What does one do there?
Since the game is inspired by a space western the possibilities are virtually endless. Some possibilities are: Alliance personnel, Browncoat, spy, double agent, pilot, engineer, shop keeper, companion, musician, farmer, builder, the list is as widely diverse as your imagination. Speak with the event organizers and we can help you out.
How much does it cost to attend?
$45 - airsoft full play $35 - townsfolk $30 - day pass
With pre- reg you will receive 100 credits a per person that is not part of a crew. A 4 person crew will receive 500 credits and a small ship. An 8 person crew will receive 1000 credits and a larger ship. Plus every pre reg person will get 1 free get well card to use in the event that they are killed or horribly wounded.
Pre reg tickets can be purchased at Ticketbud.
Day of event, cash is the preferred method of payment at door.
Attention: Apocalypse Paintball does not have a rental or supply shop. Please bring all guns, equipment, ammo or batteries that you might need.
Where can I stay?
If you are the adventurous sort, you are welcome to tent camp right at the event site for free.
Bonfires and fire pits are not allowed on site, but you are more than welcome to bring a grill to cook on for the weekend on.
If you are not feeling quite that adventurous there are quite a few hotels within 15 miles of Apocalypses Paintball. If I may suggest one, The Ridge Motor Inn in Portage is very nice, reasonably priced, and has a nice restaurant attached to it. Within walking distance is Goodwill right behind, Walmart to the north, and several gas stations and eating places near by.
Where can I get food and supplies?
The owner of the site supplies a spaghetti lunch each day that is free.
All other meals are the responsibility of the participants.
There is a large Love's Truck Stop literally right across the road. It is a great place to get all the little things you had forgotten and snacks, never enough snacks. There is also a Hardees attached to the station.
There is also a McDonald's and Subway on the other side of Hwy 94 a short distance away.

What if I want to run a Business?
If you want to run a business at Port Venture, simply bring a tent or some other kind of structure if needed (there may be space for rent but don't count on this). You can set up an office for personal protection services or mercenary work, sell goods, or offer any number of services. The only thing we ask is that you accept in game currency (exclusively for services, and at least partially for goods; ask the event organizers for further details.
Other ways to make money:
Ranching:
If you are interested in raising livestock, Port Authority will have some for sale. Take them home and feed and care for them. After 20 minutes the livestock can be brought back in and at the roll of a dice you will find out if you will make a profit or a loss. Be sure to watch after your cattle, because they can be stolen (rustled) and turned in by another player.
Also look out for your fellow players dressed up as cows: These are herd leaders, they are larger and more ornery than the typical variety and, like all the cattle on Fury, completely immune to gunfire. If one gets spooked and touches you, you are immediately wounded (you've been trampled!). Fortunately if you manage to bring one in, they're worth big credits! These cows are recognized by black and white tabards.
Scavenging:
Fury has a long history of failed endeavors, crashed ships, and destroyed settlements. Sad as that is, this provides intrepid players an opportunity to scavenge from the wrecks and ruins they find on the fields. Scavenged items can be sold to the Salvage Yard (price depending on the item), or anyone else who may be interested.
Looting:
It's a tough life out on the rim, and some people don't care if they make it even tougher. A player who is displaying a kill rag, Knocked Out, or otherwise incapacitated may be looted by another player. A looting player holds out his or her open hand, palm up, and says, “Looting!” The looting victim MUST hand over any and all game cash, props or equipment in his or her possession to the looter. Only game money and game props/equipment supplied by the Event Organizer can be looted in this manner. Personal property and/or personal weapons may not be demanded or taken.
Gambling:
If you can find a game or if you can run one, gambling is a fine way to make some extra credits on the side. It is also a great place to meet other like minded individuals and maybe line up a side job two. Just be careful who you game with as the sheriff's office isn't going to protect you from angry losers.
Smuggling:
The Alliance has an established presence on the moon and they do what they can to make this presence felt. Certain items are illegal to possess and/ or sell, but moving these items can be highly profitable, if not highly dangerous. These jobs can be found if you know who to ask and where to ask.
Railroad:
Working for the Man:
Certain businesses or organizations may need employees to do anything from serving drinks, being security guards, to robbing the mail, the sky is the limit, ask around. These jobs pay whatever you are able to negotiate and last for as long as you let it. Be warned though: backing out on a deal or cheating your employers (or employees for that matter) can carry consequences above and beyond what the law can inflict.
Working for yourself:
It's a fresh new life out here on the rim. Start your own business and offer goods or services. Get people to pay you and have fun while they do it. Never hurts to ask another crew if they need help on a job or additional gunman or two (or six).
HELP! I've become flat broke! If you've really run out of all your cash, there are a few ways that you can be helped. Find the event organizers and they will fix you right up!

When you pre - reg, a 4 person team or 8 person team will get a ship plus extra credits. At the event one will need to purchase a ship.

with a ship you will receive:

How to get a ship:

4 person crew -
with a ship you will receive:
250 credits and a small ship (Pre - reg)
Ships to chose from:
- The Fenris Class is a Light-Bulk Transport. A premium ship from the Ballestra Shipwrights, the Fenris is considered an “express freighter”, super-fast for those urgent cargos that absolutely, positively must be there, you know, really fast.
- The Kepler is a Light-Bulk Transport. It is equipped with a pair of VTOL engines which rotate to provide forward thrust, and a pair of auxiliary engines at the rear.
- The Shu Fu (Pillbug) Class is a Light-Bulk Transport, She may not be the prettiest boats to ever sail the Black, but for a captain just starting out she’s a pretty shiny ride – reliable, maneuverable and a surprisingly large cargo hold for a ship in her class. Captains who fly Shu Fu are damned proud of them, some going as far as to say, “She may not look like much, but she’s got it where it counts.”
with a ship you will receive:
500 credits and a larger ship (Pre-reg)
Ships to chose from:
- The Sandfly Class Built by the Firefly Ship Works to replace the discontinued Series 1 Firefly, the Sandfly was designed to be a small, inexpensive transport that even a captain with limited funds could afford. Later models came standard with Molina engines and Capissen Radion Accelerator Cores, and are popular for light transport jobs (mail, medical supplies, radioactive materials) to the most remote outposts, where landing facilities are primitive, if they exist at all.
- The Firefly Class A transport ship is a series of Multipurpose, Mid-Bulk Transport boats designed by Allied Spacecraft Corporation. The hulls and engines are constructed at ASC's shipyard at New Burbank, Osiris, with final outfitting being outsourced to a dozen smaller companies, including the newly formed Firefly Ship Works on Hera. All Fireflys feature a large rear engine module, wing-mounted engines capable of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL), a centralized cargo section, and raised forward section holding the crew quarters and bridge.
- The Pilgrim Class Short-range cargo haulers like the Pilgrim-class were picked up cheaply at government auction and then heavily modified to conduct settler families out to the rim worlds, a risky gambit at best
Licenses and Fines:
Ships need to have licenses. There will be fines issued to the individuals who are found not to have the proper documents on them. Licenses can be obtained at Port Authority and are good for one year.
